Terms of Use
Last updated: 22 October 2026
These Terms cover your use of Nook, a free web browser for macOS made by Arun Brahma ("we", "us"), and of this website. By downloading or using Nook, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Using Nook
Nook is free. You can download it from this site and use it on any Mac you own or control, at home or at work. Please don't sell Nook or share changed copies of it. To share Nook, send people a link to this site so they get the latest version, signed and checked by Apple.
Websites you visit
Nook shows websites made by other people. We don't control them, and their own terms and privacy policies apply. Searches you type in the address bar go to Google and are covered by Google's terms.
Ad and tracker blocking
Nook blocks ads and trackers using filter lists that other people maintain (the privacy policy names them). No blocker is perfect: some ads or trackers may get through, and now and then part of a site may not work as it should.
Your data
Nook deletes cookies, cache and site data every time it quits, so you will be signed out of websites when you quit. History lasts only until you quit. Bookmarks are saved on your Mac, so keep your own backup of anything important.
Updates
Nook doesn't update itself. New versions are published on this site, and you choose when to install them. We may change Nook or stop offering it at any time.
Acceptable use
Use Nook and this website lawfully. You are responsible for what you do on the websites you visit. Please don't use the contact form to send spam or abuse.
Warranty and liability
Nook is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We don't promise that it is free of bugs, that it works with every website, or that it will keep working on future versions of macOS.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of Nook. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Other companies' names
Nook is an independent app. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple, Google, Brave or DuckDuckGo, whose names and products belong to their owners.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The current version will always be on this page with a new "last updated" date, and continuing to use Nook means you accept it.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction over disputes about them. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of mandatory laws in your country of residence. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
